I love our big canning parties. We invite families over to help pick, peel and can pears. We end up taking turns as a family for providing the evening meal. The children help in all of the age appropriate areas of the process. They remember it forever just like it was some fantastic summer family reunion. I know that our canning parties are leaving lots of positive memories. Every time we open a jar of fruit they smile that special smile of cherished moment.
